The ability to astral travel is a lot more common and easier to do than people may realize. We all leave our bodies during the night when we sleep. Just enough of our soul essence is left behind to keep the soul connected to the physical body to keep it alive and functioning. Often we leave our bodies during meditation as well. I love exploring the other realms of existence using astral travel as my means of transportation. Anyone can learn about astral travel, what is it and how to do it effectively.
Many of us are not even aware that we have already traveled in the astral realm The definition of astral travel or astral projection is:

Astral projection (or astral travel) is an interpretation of an out-of-body experience (OBE) that assumes the existence of an “astral body” separate from the physical body and capable of travelling outside it.
You Might Have Astral Traveled If…
- You had dreams of flying.
- You visit a new place and you feel as if you have been there before.
- You meet with someone for the first time and they are familiar.
- You share a dream with someone and they had the same dream experience.
- You were able to view your body from the ceiling. Some people see the silver cord that keeps the astral and physical bodies connected.
- You experience deja vu (deja vu is when you travel ahead in time, checkout the scenarios to select the outcome that best suits your soul's path).
- You met with a teacher in your dream in a classroom setting.
- You received information about upcoming events.

People consciously astral travel for many different reasons. I suggest formulating an intention as to where you would like to go, who you would like to meet up with and what information you would like to attempt to retrieve.
Here are the most popular reasons why people astral travel:
- To learn about themselves.
- View past lives.
- Meet with a spiritual teacher, ascended master or spirit guide.
- To gain wisdom about just about anything from reincarnation, to healing, to how to communicate with pets.
- Visit with crossed over loved ones.
- Have an astral travel date with another like-minded spiritual buddy.
- For personal healing.
The astral realm is infinite as to where you can go exploring. There are quite a few different approaches or techniques that people use to assist them with a safe and productive session. Personally, I prefer to use tools to enhance my experience. I love using candles, incense and or sage, playing music in the background and use crystals either to hold or place in my meditation room.
A sample of how I prepare for a sessions of astral travel for myself:
- First I make sure I am in a relaxed, calm state of mind and my emotions are in balance.
- I never meditate or astral travel on a full stomach. This can lead to a sluggish feeling and is difficult to relax and let go.
- I create my intention. (ex. It is my intention to travel to Egypt to see the pyramids of Giza) and write it down on paper.
- I always bring my guides for protection with me when I meditate, astral travel or do any spiritual work.
- I prefer to sit up when I meditate with my back straight and supported by the chair or wall.
- I begin with a prayer/intention and slowly go into a meditative state.
- Sometimes I write and record my own meditation ahead of time and then play the meditation to guide me along my journey.
- After my meditation/journey is complete I thank spirit for the protection and guidance I received along my astral travels and then write down my experience in my journal.
Respecting other people's boundaries while engaged in any psychic work is imperative! I strongly discourage anyone to use their psychic abilities to spy on anyone.

Really? I hardly know where to start….. sooooo, how about proving there is, in fact a “soul”. Define EXACTLY what this “soul” is and where EXACTLY it came from. Then explain how consciousness can ever be separated from your brain…..as we have no examples of any type of consciousness existing without a brain. Then explain how your “astral body” (whatever the hell that is) experiences, percieves, remembers, or reasons without being connected to your brain. Please?

So far no one has even attempted to answer my question…..which is just what I expected. “Jouney of Souls” was a cute book but decidedly lacking in science. It’s based largely on psuedo-science, hear-say, and hypnotherapists stories. Not a thing can be substantiatiated….and the minute a living person starts claiming to know what it’s like to be dead I think it’s prudent to be very skeptical.
Science is not everything…. some things just cannot be explain by science. Suppose you had an outer body experience….would you be able to explain that with science. So the real question is this..
is it the out of body experience that doesn’t exist or is our science that’s just incapable of explaining and quantifying such phenomenas…. .?

if all your questions were answered, how would you know the answers given had any truth behind them, would you want them backed up by mathematical equations, or simply diagrams, or maybe even a documentary on the television… Theres alot of things in the world that can’t be proven with science etc. you simply have to experience these things to know it exists… mr scientist on the TV does not always have the answers, its a strange and wonderful place we live in, full of energy, energy governs this planet and the universe do you believe in energy Mr. Clark?, do you think theres more than 1 type of energy, if you believe in energy could you tell me what you think it is what this invisible stuff is doing, where it comes from and how it affects all living things, thanks!
Jason Lewns. In order to know the truth behind my questions I would require evidence. All of the things you mentioned would be helpful. You say there’s a lot of things that can’t be proven with science….no, just because we haven’t YET doesn’t mean we can’t…..and if we “experience” something then this experience can be documented, tested, confirmed, etc…..that IS science. But when science doesn’t have any answer it doesn’t get to make up esoteric, metaphysical names like “astral projection”, “spiritual awareness”, etc as if these terms have some merit. It simply says, “I don’t know……yet.” Yes, there is energy that takes different forms. Some is measurable as heat, some as light particles, some as electrical impulses (heat too). I don’t know where it comes from but the 2 law of thermodynamics states it cannot be created or destroyed in a closed universe…..it only changes form…..but are we in a “closed universe”?

But it seems that when I question these sort of articles people like you get testy about me having the bad manners to even ask. The human soul is still a mystery for science – or maybe not everything can be explained with science… The only thing proven by scientists was that the soul weighs 21 grams… Counsciousness is another big topic especially for quantum physics and the theory the body (and actually everyrhing) is a hologram projected by the counsciousness…. İts nearly impossible to explain all these things in a few words… But the main reason why many people are religious or spiritual is because of the belief in a higher consciousness – simply in God. Also the big bang and the beginning of everything must have a trigger….
No, what most people call a “soul” is interchangeable with consciousness and we have solid evidence that consciousness is a projection of the brain. Can you give me an example of consciousness existing without a brain? Science did not prove that the “soul” weighs 21 grams. What they proved is that when a body is alive it has internal movement of organs working, blood pumping, lungs expanding and contracting….when the body dies this internal movement ceases. This is the difference between “live weight” and “dead weight”. Stand on a standard bathroom scale…..then move around while still on it and note the weight gain. Same principle. Yes, the Big Bang did trigger what we call the universe but more importantly it began the way in which we recon time….and when our physics goes back in time we can only go to the moment of the Big Bang because that’s where our time starts. We don’t know what was before the Big Bang because we as temporal being require time to do everything, even to think. This universe could have always existed in one form or another but we can’t go back “before time”. We are left with a resounding “I DON’T KNOW!”…. but that doesn’t imply a “God did it.” We just haven’t worked it out yet.

The hall of souls, our soul group, levels of consciousness. Returning to the source. Did you actually read journey of souls or did you just read the synopsis?
Seth Hanenburg….my friend, what Dr. Michael Newton did was sell a book to people who already wanted to agree with his findings. He claims to have thousands of “case studies”….. a better term would be “stories”…..from people under hypnosis….is there a method to CONTROL how hypnotized his case studies were? Can one be sure how deeply one hypnotized person goes compared to the next? Is Dr. Newton’s work peer reviewed? Published for peer-review? Listen, within 50 miles of where I sit right now there is a whole family that can tell me of their alien abduction. They have been given a lie detector test and passed. Their story is detailed and they have not sought out notoriety or fame or money…..but do you believe they were actually abducted by aliens just because they say so? I sure hope not. (Note: there are thousands of case studies about alien abductions too….they are great stories, but that’s about all they are.) Just to be clear….until Dr. Newton proves a “soul” actually exists, talk of “halls of souls”, “soul groups”, etc are about as useful as telling me how unicorns fart without proving the existence of unicorns first. Sorry!
