Animals and Pets
There are not enough people out there fighting for the rights of animals. Animals don’t have the ability to stop or protest our actions. We share our planet with millions of different creatures and they deserve the same respect that we give each other. Spreading awareness is only the first step to making sure that we treat animals with the respect that they deserve.
In yoga and mindfulness, we are cultivating our own ability to recognize things as they are. In part, that recognition is to also see our own inner-awesomeness. May we learn to see in ourselves what our dog sees in us. The word Namaste means, “I acknowledge the light inside of me that’s also inside of you.” It’s an acknowledgement of our shared beauty. May we take this to heart and learn to see that light within ourselves and within everything around us.

Marcos Rodríguez Pantoja was dubbed the Mowgli of Spain when he was found by authorities. Rodríguez was 19 when he was discovered living in Spain’s Sierra Morena mountain range. He had been living among wolves for 12 years and was found running around barefoot and half-naked – only using grunts for communication. The now 72-year-old lives in a small, cold house and said his last happy memories are of his childhood with the animals
