2023-06-03 CynthiaHow can we stay positive when it seems like the world is falling apart?  Geological evidence of cycles of cataclysmic polar shifts, magnetic field changes, and weather changes suggest we are at the brink of another such change, while world governments appear to be engaged in a war of information and perception.
Many observers of Earth's ancient history–including scientists and aboriginal elders–have noted cycles of cataclysmic change.  There are 12 to 13 thousand-year cycles involving pole shifts and the Earth's crust (which is only about 36 miles thick) sliding over the mantle when the Earth's electromagnetic shields are down, reducing magnetic field strength–allowing increasing impact from solar and space weather events.

Earth's north magnetic pole has moved from Canada, through Greenland, and now approaching Siberia.  Millions of years ago, the poles moved, possibly triggering an ice age.  Many ancient legends and stories match the geological magnetic and archeological evidence confirming that massive cataclysmic weather changes have occurred in regular cycles throughout the Earth's history.  Many futurists are seriously considering the possibility that cataclysmic Earth changes might soon be here.  Why are world leaders not yet discussing any of this?

Part of the answer might have something to do with something called Fifth-Generation Warfare, 5GW. James Corbett describes 5G War, with clarification that 5G war is:  “the war of every government against its own population and every international institution against free humanity.”  Most people don't yet even know we're in the midst of a war of information and perception, that is targeting and creating cognitive biases in such stealthy ways that are nearly invisible.  With the idea in mind that warfare has rules, what rule set do you recommend we master for this 5G war?

True Polar Wander

Geologists at Rice University discovered evidence suggesting that Earth’s spin axis was in a different spot millions of years ago, a phenomenon called “true polar wander.”  This change occurred sometime in the past 12 million years, shifting Greenland further up into the Arctic Circle, and possibly contributing to the onset of the last major Ice Age, 3.2 million years ago.

The Earth's tectonic plates of our continents and the ocean floor float and shift atop lower, hotter, layers of magma.  We see signs of the lower, hotter layers through “hotspot” locations, where the magma rises, and initiates volcanic activity.  In the USA, there are hotspots beneath Yellowstone and Hawaii, which are also moving in relation to the Earth's inner core, but not as quickly as the tectonic plates.

When the Earth's tectonic plates move over hotspots, they leave a path with the evidence we can see, such as the remnants of the Pacific Plate's movement over the Hawaiian hotspot being much longer than just the above-water islands that magma flowing up through the volcanoes created.  In fact, the full path is evidenced by 3,600 miles of dormant, underwater volcanoes, stretching from Hawaii to Alaska's Aleutian Islands.

Thanks to studying these larger swaths of hotspot shift in relationship with continental drift, scientists now recognize that when the spin axis of the Earth changes, it would have to change position relative to the hotspots, and not just relative to those constantly moving tectonic plates.  The geologic record shows that the equator has clearly shifted, meaning that the Earth's spin axis has shifted.  Coriolis forces show us where the equator has been, since these forces create winds, push ocean waters north in the northern hemisphere, and south in the southern hemisphere, leading to a deficit of surface water along the equator in the ocean.

The ocean then balances this deficit by bringing equatorial deep water up from the ocean floor, which transports nutrients to the surface, feeding organisms that thrive in equatorial regions, and leave their remains on the equatorial sea floor–providing a clear line of equatorial demarcation for us to study later on.

When we look to see how the Pacific Plate has moved steadily north, we'd expect to find evidence of the past equatorial line of sediment to the north.  But scientists have been surprised to find something unexpected:  the equator was not where we'd expect–and the only way that the equator could move is that the spin axis of the Earth and poles moved.

A second piece of geological evidence came from the Earth's magnetic fields, which are polarized thanks to Earth's molten core.  While it's true that the Earth's magnetic poles are not usually exactly the same as the geographic (spin) poles, they are usually fairly close, so they average out to aligning with the geographic poles over time.  We can see evidence of the history of the Earth's magnetic field and poles in the new crust formed at the ocean floor.  These magnetic signs match the equatorial geographic evidence, showing that there exists a phenomenon called, “True Polar Wander,” where the spin axis of the Earth has shifted locations relative to the surface of our planet.

At some time between 48 and 12 million years ago, the Earth's spin axis and geographic north and south poles were in very different places than they are today.  The north pole was closer to Greenland than it is today, and the south pole shifted similarly to the west.  At some point in time around 12 million years ago, the poles moved to where they are now.  This shift can seriously affect Earth's climate and weather, and may have some relationship with Earth's last ice age, which started sometime around 3.2 million years ago.

When the Next Polar Shift Might Occur

Some futurists mention that some kind of big shift is coming.  This is discussed by the Arlington Institute's Quartet, led by John Peterson and including Gregg Braden, Penny Kelly, and Kingsley Dennis.  The coming shift is also referenced by remote viewers, such as Steven Schwartz, who writes the Schwartz Report, and leads remote viewing projects of the years 2050 and 2060 as possibly happening around the year 2045.  Some observers of space weather, such as Ben Davidson, author of Weatherman's Guide to the Sun, and YouTube creator of the Suspicious Observers channel are expecting a polar shift to occur sometime in the next 20 to 30 years.  It seems likely that the world's government leaders are well aware of this, yet so far, there has been little to no conversation about how some of the changes we are already witnessing may contribute more to climate and weather changes than anything typically discussed.

Instead of hearing about something that the world could collectively be preparing for, it seems that we have instead been guided to focus attention on issues that are far less serious and impactful.  There is almost a sense of being misdirected and distracted, yet there are ever-increasing numbers of people who are coming up with their own questions, and thinking independently of narratives currently being pushed.

We might well ask if all of this information about possible upcoming Earth cataclysm is so well known, why don't our government leaders discuss this with us?  Is it possible that some of them are aware of possible massive disruption, and they might be contributing to disinformation and misinformation?

Fifth-Generation Warfare

Some futurists are anticipating the possibility of a “global civil war, with some referring to the presence of Fifth-Generation Warfare, which is defined by James Corbett as, “the war of every government against its own population, and every international institution against free humanity.”   This is no typical war, of the sort nations have been engaging in on battlefields for centuries.

This is a war of information and perception, and Corbett points out, “The most incredible part of all of this is that so few know that the war is even taking place, let alone that they are a combatant in it.”

The previous generations of war have been documented by historians Lind et al, with the modern age of warfare starting with the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648, which “gave the state a monopoly on war.”  First-generation warfare included tactics of line and column, which were developed to optimize the efficacy of the smoothbore musket; Second-generation warfare included tactics of indirect fire and mass movement to work with rifled musket, breechloaders, barbed wire, and the machine gun; and Third-generation warfare featuring tactics of nonlinear movement including maneuver and infiltration, developed in response to WWI weaponry and tactics.  Fourth-generation warfare is sometimes referred to as insurgency, which can be seen at the point where nation-states lose their monopoly on war, and there is a return to a world of clashing cultures.

Fifth Generation Warfare is defined as a global war of ideas and narratives.  Some analysts of this topic point out that the crux of Fifth Generation Warfare is that it takes advantage of ambiguity.  It thus includes characteristics such as:  mass cyberattacks occurring that are not attributable to any specific nation-state; mass social engineering conducted on their own citizenry; an absence of us-versus-them with spontaneous conflict arising seemingly randomly; non-state actors becoming primary belligerents; and nation-states having the wrong tools for the job.  There is a certain vulnerability in this generation of warfare, where people's access to true information is vulnerable to manipulation via social engineering and long-trusted sources of information.  Essentially, layers upon layers of psy-ops can be running in ways designed to pit people against one another as a distraction, so they don't notice some unspoken truths by leaders who really do know what is going on.

Lessons from the Art of War

If we are indeed at a point where the real basis of war has so fundamentally changed that it now is being fought via ideas and narratives, fraught with ambiguity, how can we survive and thrive in such turbulence?

We can find a Win-Win tip in Sun-Tzu's The Art of War, stating:

“When you surround an army, leave an outlet free.
Do not press a desperate foe too hard…
Build your opponent a golden bridge to retreat across.”

I love the idea of visualizing ultimate success in attaining a smooth transition to the best possible Fifth World–I love the idea of picturing the outcome of identifying and surrounding those who would wage war on the citizens of all the nations in this world.  By imagining not only that success is assured, but also that in this moment of victory, a path can be made clear for this new future to truly be optimal for everyone, we are helping to ensure that such a positive outcome can be experienced.  This presents us with a wonderful area of positive focus for those of us adopting a “How good can it get” perspective.  We can ask, and truly long to know, “How might we best plan to provide a path of retreat for those at war against us in this 5th generation war?”

Harness the Power of Radical Optimism

With awareness of all that is happening, it is still possible to maintain an optimistic attitude, which is actually the most radical, and possibly most catalytic thing any of us can do.

Optimism just might be the ultimate survival skill, as I stated in a post last year about the Revolutionary Power of Radical Optimism, and that sounds exactly like what we'll be needing in the years and decades ahead.  I've been advocating this perspective every time I suggest we keep asking, “How good can it get?” which prompts the participatory universe to respond to us with answers to the questions that we truly would most love to live the answers to.

Just as we can sometimes harness mind-matter interaction to assist weather situations, such as bringing rain to the western states in the USA after years of drought, we can stay focused on expecting the best possible results even in what may seem like the darkest times.  This matches the advice recommended by the Hopi when moving from this Fourth World to the anticipated Fifth World, whose words, “Tunatya” and “Tunatyava” mean “comes true, being hoped for.”  This works best when keeping our hearts open to the Divine.  We can thus restore trust in basic goodness, setting an example by our presence in the world of how to maintain optimal focus in any circumstance.
